Urgent & Emergency Care

Urgent Care access: In the Boise area there are approximately 30 locations between St. Luke’s, St Al’s and Primary Health. The majority of locations are closed after 8 p.m. Active Duty service members require a referral for “Urgent Care”. Please contact your primary care manager at  08-828-7900 or the Nurse Advice Line at 1-800-874-2273, option 1, for a referral prior to going or if after hours, contact your PCM the next duty day to request a backdated referral for the visit.

Emergency Care access: No referrals are required for anyone to visit an emergency room.

Medical emergencies are the sudden and unexpected onset of a medical condition that:

  • Is threatening to life, limb, or eyesight;
  • Requires immediate medical treatment; or
  • Manifests painful symptoms that requires immediate response to alleviate suffering.

Hours: 24/7, for staffed ambulance and urgent care center with in-house physician

Call your primary care manager within 24 hours or the next business day after getting emergency care to get authorization and coordinate ongoing care.
